Zeleyape’s Current Operation
Zeleyape is a small, newly established workshop, currently in its first year of operation. We utilize a Direct-to-Consumer (D2C) model to manage costs and conduct sales exclusively online through our website.
Our product focus is on core, durable furniture pieces such as dining tables, coffee tables, bookcases, media consoles, and storage solutions. Customers can easily use the online ordering form to customize basic parameters (like overall size or finish color) before purchase.
Materials and Reliable U.S. Sourcing Partners
Zeleyape’s foundation is built on carefully selected solid hardwoods: Oak, Walnut, Ash, and Maple. This selection is based on their inherent stability and physical properties suitable for home use.
Sourcing Origin: All raw lumber and components are purchased exclusively from reliable partners in the United States.
Wood Partners: We work with various U.S. hardwood suppliers. This includes large-scale providers like Weyerhaeuser, Baillie Lumber, and Northwest Hardwoods; specialized millwork partners such as Frank Miller Lumber and Baird Brothers for specific cuts; and craft suppliers like Bell Forest and Hearne Hardwoods for unique materials.
Components: Mechanical fittings, such as drawer slides, are sourced from high-precision brands like Accuride (U.S.) to ensure reliable sliding functionality.
Technical Process and Wood Stabilization
Zeleyape’s crafting procedure is designed to optimize product longevity:
Wood Acclimation (Mandatory): This is a mandatory step. Newly acquired lumber is held in the workshop under controlled environmental conditions for approximately 2-4 weeks (depending on thickness) to allow its moisture content to equalize with the eventual indoor environment. This process is crucial to minimize warping or shrinkage after the product is finished and put into use.
Manufacturing and Assembly: Components are produced and assembled using a combination of hand-craftsmanship and precise tooling.
Finishing: Products are coated with high-quality protectants (e.g., oil or water-based lacquer) to enhance durability and moisture resistance.
Itemized Cost Transparency
Due to our D2C model, Zeleyape implements a high degree of cost transparency. Our quotations are clearly separated into three main, non-aggregated categories:
Material Cost: The actual cost of the solid hardwood (calculated by board foot) and components.
Production Cost: The direct labor cost for crafting, assembly, and finishing time.
Freight Cost: The actual logistics cost from our workshop to the customer’s location.
We provide this detailed information so that customers can understand the itemized expense of their investment.
